What we collect

• Free planning check: your postcode and address, property type, the project you are considering, the stage you are at, anything you tell us you want to achieve, your first name, email address, how you would like to be contacted and, if you choose a call, your telephone number.
• Onboarding, after you accept a quote: confirmation of your brief and any documents, photographs or reference images you choose to share.
• Basic technical information generated when you use the website, such as pages viewed.

Why we use it

• To carry out the planning check you requested and respond to your enquiry.
• To arrange and hold a call, prepare a quote and deliver work you have agreed.
• To keep records of the work we carry out.

Submitting the free planning check does not sign you up to marketing. We do not add you to a marketing list and we do not sell your information.

Who can see it

Your check, your enquiry and anything you upload are private. They are stored with access controls so that only you and authorised UKP&D team members working on your project can see them, and they are excluded from search engine indexing.

Where a professional such as your appointed designer, a structural engineer or a surveyor needs your information to carry out agreed work, it is shared with them for that purpose.

How long we keep it

Enquiries that do not proceed are kept only as long as needed to deal with the enquiry and any follow-up. Project records are kept for as long as required for the service and our legal and insurance obligations.

Your rights

You can ask for a copy of the information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, ask us to delete it where we are not required to keep it, and object to certain uses. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office.
